Change in Local Health Authority for the East Zone Center
The Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection has replaced the Local Health Authority for the East Zone Center. According to Order No. 155/2026, Dr. José Eduardo Tomás Cunha de Freitas was relieved of his duties at his own request for personal reasons.
Dr. Sara Carolina Rocha Pereira de Jesus Valente Perfeito, a General and Family Medicine physician at SESARAM, EPERAM, has been appointed to the position. Given the shortage of public health specialists in the region, the accumulation of functions was authorized to ensure full coverage of the population. The new appointment is effective from March 24, 2026, and extends until October 1, 2028.
